Przebite Serce Jezusa jako klucz hermeneutyczny objawienia biblijnego
The Pierced Heart of Jesus as a Hermeneutical Key to Biblical Revelation
Przywołując tradycję patrystyczną i scholastyczną, zwłaszcza św. Augustyna i św.

Abstract
This article examines the motif of the pierced Heart of Jesus as a central key to understanding the entirety of biblical revelation. The author argues that the piercing of Christ’s side on the cross constitutes the moment in which the prophecies of the Old Testament are fulfilled, bringing together the symbolism of the Passover lamb and the promise of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Drawing on the patristic and scholastic traditions, particularly St Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas, the author presents the Pierced Heart as a “book opened by the spear.” From this perspective, Christ’s Passion becomes the moment when the Scriptures, previously obscure and “closed,” become intelligible, revealing the truest face of God the Father and his boundless love. The article also emphasizes the importance of silence and contemplation as the indispensable setting for properly hearing and receiving the Word of God. In conclusion, the author maintains that contemplating the Pierced One leads to a “new creation” and requires believers to commit themselves both to a profound spiritual life and to the life of the ecclesial community, which constitutes the primary context for the interpretation of Sacred Scripture.
